The Local Ecosystem
Regional Bass Species
Trout & Freshwater Life
The Zuiderzee region is a premier habitat for Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass. These species thrive in our shallow, clear waters, offering engaging challenges for recreation enthusiasts. Best observed during early morning cycles when they are most active.
Known for their vibrant lateral lines and preference for cold, oxygenated streams, Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout are native to our waterway ecosystems. Their presence is a hallmark of the pristine water quality found in our parks.
Visitor Guidelines
Respect the Waterfront
For a safe and enjoyable experience, always follow posted safety flags when swimming and maintain a respectful distance from active fishing zones along the Zuiderzee banks.
Sustainable Fishing
To preserve the local Rainbow Trout and Bass populations, we encourage the use of barbless hooks and a catch-and-release mindset whenever possible in ours and nearby waters.
Wildlife Ethics
Observe all local wildlife from a safe distance. Avoid leaving food scraps at your campsite, as this prevents human-wildlife conflicts and keeps our ecosystem healthy.
Leave No Trace
Commit to leaving the landscape exactly as you found it. Use designated waste disposal bins and ensure your campsite is pristine before your departure.
